This Cultural Model presents the main cultural differences between two particular countries of interest.

Design of cultural model is the second phase of
supporting multicultural strategy. The main
function of this model is to form a set of
appropriate design patterns useful for
localizing corporate web interface on a relevant
cultural level and avoiding implementation of
offensive web appearance which could have a
negative effect on the target audience.
The process of creating CM consists of several
stages. In the beginning the most relevant
information from research phase has to be
additionally analyzed in terms of specific
cultural understanding and prepared for further
manipulation. Then, a special cultural database
is created, filled in with all important elements
that have a relation to local cultural behavior
and attitude. Based on this database, a
comparison between cultural values of
investigated culture and those of original one
(the original culture for which the corporate
website is created) might be conducted. The
results of this comparison should give a clear answer which
cultural elements have to be
changed and how it could be done. Finally,
having this information, a cultural model
including all specific details can be created,
followed by further prototype implementation
and real localized website creation.
CWC offers already existing Cultural Data Base
which can be used for comparison of different
cultural characteristics between the original and
targeted country. This DB consist of seven
cultural categories which cover the main
characteristics having influence on creating
culturally customized corporate web designs.
These categories are as follows: National
standards, Language and Typography, Colors,
Imagery and Icons, Page Layout, Cultural
Dimensions, Other Characteristics. After
comparing the cultural elements of already
mentioned categories, the system presents an
overview of what has to be changed and how
exactly it could be done, so that an effective
localized corporate website can be created.
